As the current developments on the political-military situation in the country clearly demonstrate, any escalation in the conflict will lead to inevitable increased humanitarian needs in Angola. Furthermore, the limited access to affected persons, whose majority is displaced, narrows down the emergency assistance.

Because of the current instability in the country with humanitarian corridors subjected to attacks and mines, relief agencies are only assisting approximately 50% of the over 100,000 confirmed new internally displaced person (IDPs).
