Civil Society in Angola: Fiction or Agent of Change

The contribution of Angolan civil society organizations (CSOs) to the democratiza tion process is so much more meritorious as it has taken place in a context of much adversity and within a relatively short period of time. However, given the complexity of the Angolan context, the possibility for civil society to provoke lasting or structural change is limited.
