Budget and Human Rights: summary of a methodology

This publication consolidates a partnership between communities in the Indische Buurt (Amsterdam) and a Brazilian non-governmental organization, the Institute of Socioeconomic Studies (INESC). The content of this publication is based on the methodology Budget and Human Rights, developed by INESC throughout its history of activism and research in Brazil and worldwide since 1979. This methodology has been a useful tool in analyzing public policies and budget with the aim to achieve human rights and sustainability. The idea is to offer communities, groups and civil society organizations conditions for participation in, and democratic control over government, using the public budget as a starting point.
