Final Report prepared for the World Bank by DW, designed to examine the water and sanitation sectors in Luanda from the perspective of the consumers of these services. It is a departure from other work, which has concentrated on the formal infrastructure for water distribution, sewerage and solid waste disposal. As well as reporting on current practices in water and sanitation in Luanda, this study synthesizes information from interviews and discussion groups with people who live in the peri-urban areas of Luanda. The recommendations deal directly with people’s priorities for improvements and their willingness to pay for them.
Luanda Informal Water Sector Study Service Provision for the Peri-Urban Poor in Post-Conflict Angola (Draft Report)
The interest underpinning this research deals with development a better understanding of the informal supply of water and how it has evolved since DW research in 1995 – and how it is likely to evolve and react to improved formal, regular water supply systems; understand better how institutional capacity can best be developed, especially at the interface between water companies and community; and provide lessons and understanding of the sector that can feed policy advocacy and promote pro-poor poverty reduction strategies.
Estudo sobre o Consumo de Água Nos Chafarizes em Luanda: Projecto de Serviços Comunitários Sustentáveis
O estudo para avaliar o consumo per capita diário foi realizado de 19 a 30 de Maio de 2004. O principal propósito foi de estabelecer um quadro comparativo do consumo per capita diário dos agregados familiares residentes na área do projecto. A base comparativa do estudo consistiu na consulta de documentos existentes e na realização de noventa e nove inquéritos individuais.
Consulta Comunitaria e a Vontade a Pagar Para Serviços Básicos de Água
