Sustainable and Safe Drinking Water in Bom Jesus

Approximately 80% of all illnesses in developing countries are caused by poor water and sanitation condition. It is common for women and girls to have to walk several kilometers every day to fetch water for their families. Once filled, water jugs can weigh as much as 20 kg.

In  2009, Angola had the highest rate of diarrheal disease in the world. Diarrhea and other water-borne diseases caused approximately 23 percent of infant mortality
