This report is part of the research programme “Cooperation on Research and Development in Angola” between Centro de Estudos e Investigação Científica (CEIC) at the Catholic Universityin Luanda, Angola and Chr. Michelsen Institute (CMI) in Bergen, Norway funded by the Norwegian Embassy. The objective of the programme is to increase the quality, quantity and availability of relevant research-based knowledge on Angola. The programme has several subprojects in political science, economics and social science.1 This report on urban poverty in Luanda is related to the social science project “Urban and Rural Poverty Dynamics”. A similar report has been published on rural poverty in the province of Malanje (Tvedten, Lázaro et al. 2017).
