During the first two weeks of July, the security situation in Angola continued to deteriorate with military actions report in several regions. The immediate consequence of this unstable situation is the increasing number of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). Out of the over 20 million IPDs around the world, some 1.3 million are in Angola, including old and new IPDs. This number is daily rising as a result of the continued insecurity in the countryside.
