Angola is situated on the southwest coast of Africa, and has borders with the
Congo, Zaire, Zambia and Namibia. It is the second largest country south of the Sahara in are a and has a population density of less than eight inhabitants per sguare kilometer. The country has considerable agricultural potential, with a climate, soil and topography suitable for large-scale modern agriculture and for the production of a wide range of crops. It is also well endowed with mineral resources, including petroleum, diamonds, gold and iron ore, and has significant hydroelectric, forestry and fisheries potential.
