Prolonged civil war has destroyed the majority of Angola’s meteorological and hydrological monitoring systems. As part of the International Development Research Centre's (IDRC) 'In Conversation With' YouTube series, Development Workshop director Allan Cain explains how researchers are working with communities, reviewing archived materials, and using satellite imagery to assess and map flooding risks in Angola’s poor coastal communities, despite the absence of historic climate data.
